It is this time of the year when small business and “Solopreneur” have to make a selection on their Health Care due to the Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare. December by no mistake is the most stressful time to Real Estate Professional, Investors, and Business Owner. We usually warp up the year by paying property taxes, preparing for tax session, year-end report, and now health insurance.
One of the thing you have to figure out before quitting your job is to have a health care plan in place. I unfortunately did not have this figure out before quitting my job and was able to get-by with access to quality and cheap medical service in other Asian country, such as Vietnam. This is however, not a long-term solution. You need to be prepared in the event…a bus hit you. Most small business and small entrepreneur are one accident away from going bankrupt.
I went through the Application on http://www.HealthCare.gov just like anyone else and almost apply until see this line
For a second, I have this idea of how to try to make less money next year in order to keep the premium low and i immediately neutralize that thought and exit the application.
I know there are plenty of people out there actually figuring out how to make less money next year in order to be qualified for premium tax credit. What a shame to just even have this thought. I think it’s actually harder to figure out how to make less money. This toxic thinking will stay in your subconscious mind and hinder your way on wealth creation.
What’s the alternative?
Fortunately, my good friend recommended me to a concept call Health Sharing. This is where member contribute money into a pool and we can use it to pay toward any qualified Health Incident
After some research, I decided to give Liberty Heath Share a try. The premium for both of us is only $249 per month with $1000 deductible and coverage up to $1,000,000. The community base on the belief of each member taking good care of their health and help each other in needed time. Although the company has some negative reviews for processing time. It is the best option that i was able to find so far.
What about you? what is your plan to combat with rising healthcare cost ,and keep the government out of your life, and improve the health of your family ?I would love to hear your story
